Features of the PML AS68RC pan:
- Cooling — extra fluid capacity, fins, and aluminum construction for cooler fluid temperatures
- Drain plug — on the side for safety
- Secure seal — machined flat gasket flange for a leak free seal
- Strength — high quality, thick walls
- Works with stock gasket and filter
Drain for PML AS68RC Transmission Pan
PML placed the drain hole on the driver’s side, near the rear of the vehicle, as shown here.
A magnetic drain plug is included with the pan and all the mounting bolts. The side location is safer than the bottom since there is less chance for damage than on the bottom. There is still easy access for maintenance.
Optional Machining for Temperature Sending Unit
This pan has three locations that can be machined for a temperature sending unit. One location on the driver’s side near the front, one on the passenger’s side near the rear and one in the front. These locations are circular bosses and can accomodate between 1/8 NPT and 1/2 NPT. PML can drill and tap the hole to order for a $45 machining charge.

Installations
Our thanks to those who emailed us pictures of their installations.
2010 Dodge Ram 4500
John in Peyton, Colorado installed this PML AS68RC transmission pan on his 2010 Ram 4500 6.7. He reported that “installation was easy with no fitment issues”. He used a 1/4 inch drive 5mm hex bit since clearance is tight when bolting up the pan. He used the approved ASCR fluid (not ATF+4) and needed just over three gallons for the fill.
Here are the part numbers for the gasket, filter and fluid John used:
- Mopar Pan Gasket: 68020049AA
- Mopar Filter: 68019688AA
- Mopar Fluid, ASCR – Gallon: 05189977AA / Quart: 05189966AA
Our thanks to John for sharing his installation information and pictures below.

2009 Dodge Ram 5500
John installed this PML Aisin pan on his 2009 Ram 5500 Cummins. He reported that the installation was straight forward and took him no longer than a couple of hours. The only special tool that he recommends is an extra long 5mm Allen Socket for the bolts in the front of the pan where the transmission cooler lines run. He added just under 13 quarts of Amalie Super Universal Transmission fluid, meets or exceeds the JWS 3009 spec required by Chrysler or Aisin. With the stock pan, he would add just a tad over 9 quarts. Our thanks to John for his feedback on his installation.
