WE DO NOT WANT YOU TO MACHINE YOUR HEAD AND OR BLOCK TO OUR SPECS IN CASE THE PARTS YOU PURCHASED ARE NOT THE SAME. IF YOU HAVE LOST OR MISPLACED YOUR INSTRUCTIONS THAT CAME WITH THE FIRE RING GASKET KIT PURCHASED FROM US, PLEASE CONTACT US AND WE WILL GET YOU A NEW SET IMMEDIATELY. WE APOLOGIZE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

- NOTE: AFTER SEVERAL YEARS OF CUTTING FIRE RINGS, WE HAVE DETERMINED THAT A RADIUS BOTTOM GROOVE IS BETTER THAN A FLAT BOTTOM GROOVE. IN THE THERMAL CYCLES OF THE ENGINE, WE HAVE FOUND THE RING IS BETTER SUPPORTED GIVING MORE LONGEVITY.

RETORQUE INSTRUCTIONS FOR HEAD STUDS WITH OR WITHOUT FIRE RING GASKET |
HEAD STUD RETORQUE PROCEDURE - Leave valve cover off, start truck and let run until it reaches operating temperature.
- Retorque HOT ENGINE first retorque only after initial installation. ALL retorques after that - COLD
- 12MM STD STUDS - 120 FT LB
- 12MM HD STUDS - 120-125 FT LB
- 14MM XHD STUDS - 150 FT LB
- Check valves, re-adjust if necessary. Check service manual for your specific engine for valve clearances.
- FOR BEST SUCCESS IF YOU REPEAT STEPS 2 AND 3 AFTER 200 MILES STREET DRIVEN OR AFTER FIRST COMPETITION RUN. RETORQUE COLD ENGINE ONLY. CHECK PERIODICALLY AFTER THAT. RETORQUE AS NEEDED.
